The Ruston Parks and Recreation Department is a small, dedicated staff committed to enhancing the quality of life throughout the community by providing the recreational opportunities so vital for personal growth and development, regardless of age.
Activities range from Pee Wee, Youth, and Adult athletics, to sports camps, exercise, and wellness programs and special events. Our staff takes pride in developing and presenting diverse programming that allows people from all ages and economic backgrounds the opportunity to participate.
We operate and maintain 11 park sites that include 15 athletic fields, 5 tennis courts, 12 outdoor basketball courts, and 8 playgrounds. We also operate and maintain the Bobby James Memorial Gym, McLane Recreation Center, Greenwood Recreation Center, Ruston Soccer Complex, J. C. Love Softball Complex, Municipal Tennis Courts, and the Ruston Municipal Pool.
Ruston is growing and our department is meeting that growth with construction of a new park in the Cypress Springs area of the City. Other areas are receiving renovations and enhancements to ensure that our facilities stand the test of time and increased use.
