Civic Center Rules

  1. All decorating shall be the responsibility of the group renting the Civic Center, the Peach Suite or the Historic Fire Station (the “Facility”), as well as the removal of all decorations immediately following your event.  Arrangements can be made through the Director to remove rented equipment the following day only if time and facility use permits.
  2. Use and/or decorating of the Civic Center lobby is only permitted if both Civic Center and Peach Suite are rented together.  This includes any registration tables placed in the lobby.
  3. Nails, staples, tacks, duct tape, or other fasteners are not allowed to secure banners or decorations to the walls or stage.  There are designated areas for banners and decorations located behind the stage and across the room on the north wall of the Civic Center, or as directed by the Facility Director.
  4. Painters tape and masking tape are the only types of tapes to be used on floors.  You will be charged a damage fee if damage occurs from the use of tape.
  5. Straw, hay, or other flammable decorations are not allowed.  Lit candles are not allowed.
  6. Glitter and confetti are not allowed for decorating purposes.
  7. Spray painting is not allowed inside the Facility or on the Facility sidewalks.
  8. The Facility staff must have a diagram for the room set-up at least two (2) weeks prior to the event.  If a set up plan is not provided, your group will be responsible for the set-up of tables and chairs.
  9. All events must end by 12:00 a.m.
  10. If the kitchen is used by caterers or renters, it must be cleaned to its original condition.  The City is not responsible for supplying cleaning supplies or chemicals.
  11. All table coverings and place settings shall be the responsibility of the caterer or renter, as well as the removal of any such items.
  12. Any security necessary for your event must be arranged no later than fourteen (14) days prior to your event.  Failure to obtain security by the required time shall be grounds for immediate cancellation.
  13. Crowd control shall be maintained at all times.  If crowd control problems threaten the safety or attendees or Facility staff, your event may be cancelled immediately at the discretion of the Director or the City designee in charge.
  14. Smoking is not permitted inside any city facilities.
  15. Nothing may be hung from the ceiling.
  16. All outside tents must be weighted with buckets.  No staking into ground or tying to any structures or landscape.

You may be subject to additional fees or risk forfeiting any deposits if the above rules are not observed.
