About Ruston

Ruston State Bank

The Ruston State Bank building was completed in 1910. The two-story brick building is decorated in the Beaux Art style with a magnificent stone façade. The façade is the height of the entire building and sets the building apart from the common structures that surround it. The focal point of the building is its entrance, which was designed to look like a classical temple. Ruston State Bank’s entryway sits under a Roman arch, and large pilasters embellish either side. An enormous coffered vault, and antique clock (added in 1927) identify the old Ruston State Bank building as the most elaborate architecture in downtown Ruston.
