Real Change in Ruston is a holistic approach to real community development. Through a partnership between the City of Ruston and the Zion Traveler Community Development Corporation (CDC), this initiative is creating meaningful opportunities for families in an often-overlooked area in our community.
Located blocks from downtown Ruston in the East End Community, Real Change in Ruston, in partnership with the Ruston Housing Authority, has built 20 homes for community residents. The program's goal was to create homeownership opportunities for first-time homebuyers who complete the Zion Traveler CDC's homeownership program.
Recognizing the challenges that can come with achieving homeownership, the Zion Traveler CDC partners with local businesses and organizations to provide the education, resources, and support needed to prepare individuals not only for homeownership but also for long-term personal and financial success. By investing in families and strengthening the community, the program is helping create opportunities for lasting, generational change.
