North Louisiana Military Museum

The North Louisiana Military Museum Honors those who served, from the Civil war to the War on Terror! We have two floors of exibits and an outdoor display.

First Floor

Our 1st Floor Exhibit is highlighted by THREE Congressional Medal of Honors representing three branches of service! Military gear from the Civil War to the Spanish-American War are on display.  Uniforms, guns, cannon balls, Civil War photos, muskets, swords, belt buckles, and a Civil War anti-ship mine are on our first floor. Machine guns, rifles, pistols, uniforms, pennants, flags, swords, helmets from WWI are on display.  Featured is a Lewis Gun, an 08 Maxim Machine Gun, and a Pickle haube German helmet from WWI. The WWII collection contains German, Japanese, Italian, Russian, and United States military equipment.  US Medal of Honors and a Japanese paratrooper helmet are featured items. Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, and the War on Terror have displays.  Uniforms and equipment from both sides of these conflicts are featured.  There is a rare Russian Flamethower, as well as radio equipment.

Second Floor

Our 2nd Floor features uniforms from all branches of service as well as American Red Cross uniforms and insignia. Arrowheads and Native American Pre-Civil War relics are on display as well as cameras, radios, typewriters, helmets, and firearms, from WWI and WWII.  Ranging from the Civil War to the current War on Terror, there are countless items to see.  A feature of our uniform section, is a display devoted to womens' uniforms.  Uniforms from the American Red Cross, as well as Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Italian are on display.  There is a special display of WWII uniforms that belonged to 3 brothers and their brother-in-law. Army WWII pins and badges, and a complete collection of WWII State Guard badges are on display.  US Navy rating patches, American Red Cross badges, Marine Corp rank and insignia are all on display.

Outdoor

Our outdoor displays include helicopters, tanks, artillery, anti-aircraft guns, and a Civil War cannon. Items include A4 Marine Corps SkyHawk (Vietnam), UH1H Huey Helicopter, SAM II Missile, Navy SH2 SeaSprite Helicopter, 75mm Howitzer, 155mm Howitzer, Russian 40mm Anti-Tank Gun,  Twin 40mm Bofors Anti-Aircraft Gun, 1841 Napoleon 6 Pounder Canon (Civil War), M113 Armored Personnel Carrier, M60 Main Battle Tank, M48 Main Battle Tank, and a M551 A1 Sherridan Light Tank.
