Mayor Walker has ordered all U.S. and Louisiana flags at municipal
buildings and grounds to be flown at half-mast in honor of Fire Chief Christopher Joseph
Womack, whose passing is deeply felt throughout the Ruston community.
Flag Display Details:
• Effective immediately: Flags should be lowered to half-mast upon receipt of this
notice.
• Duration: Flags will remain at half-mast until sunset on Sunday, November 23, 2025.
• Procedure: Flags should be raised briskly to the peak before being lowered slowly
to the half-mast position. Prior to lowering them for the day, flags should again be
raised to the peak.
The City encourages the community to join in this observance as we honor the life and
service of Fire Chief Womack.
